Lord, may I not get lost
In the midst of it all: joy or sorrow.
Lord, may I never forget what race I’m running.
May I not struggle to have my name plastered on walls, on screens
Or even on hearts.
It’s all about You, LORD.
So many things seek my attention and sometimes,
Other things are easier or seem easier than true devotion.
Sometimes, my phone seems closer to me than you, LORD…
Sometimes, I start my day with her light rather than the light of Your Word
When people prepare a stage for me,
May I smile, bow my head as I introduce You and let You have it all.
Take over, instead.
Hide me. Hide me;
Not just from the obvious evil: accidents, failure, bodily affliction…
Hide me every time someone gives me credit
(Take it all, LORD)
Hide me every time “contaminable praise” comes my way…
Hide me from good that will be corrupted IF it finds it way to my heart.
Don’t let me comprehend whatever would lead me to sin
And when I do, help me to resist it, to walk away…
I want to be Yours and Yours alone.
You know me…
Despite the noise that I am in, You know this is true
Please, help me find you every moment
Even if I make my bed in hell, You are there, you see me; You know me
So also, come rain or shine, no matter where I am, help me see You through it all.
I am Yours.
I love You.
I honor You.
I choose You.
