Be still and know that I am God. Be still and know that I am God. Be still and know that I am God.

In difficult times and times when I’m in doubt (which is almost all the time, as the devil is the king of doubt), these words from Benny Hinn’s song keep me going in difficult times;
Many times, I just don’t know what next to do. This is not because I have not made plans or set goals. The truth is, I do and I’m sure a number of us have loads of plans and goals as well; however, because of uncertainties and unforeseen circumstances, fear and doubt creep in and dwell in our hearts. This then gives birth to the questions:

“What do I do?”
“How do I go about this?”
“Why does it have to be this hard?”
“Will I be good at this?”
“What if I do this and it goes the other way?”
“What if I don’t make it?”
This is the worst question that comes up:
what if I don’t make it?”

I whisper to myself, “I will make it in Jesus name.”

Fear tells you, “Look at what you’re up against; there’s no possible way things could work out in your favour” but Revelation 21:6 says “And He said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely. “IT IS DONE talks about everything: our open doors, our miracles, and our way out of anything.

Do you know that our God is sovereign? Don’t you know you live under sovereignty? Maybe we should go into what sovereignty/ sovereign means. Sovereignty is a royal authority. Sovereign is the greatest in status or authority or power and that is who God almighty is.

He is everything.
Absolutely nothing is too hard for Him.
All good things are possible with Him.
He is the all-sufficient God.
He is in full control.
He knows our destiny.

We don’t need to waste time trying to change and control things outside our power because He has everything under perfect control.

Every time I go through anything, especially in hard times, I just have to sing to myself, “Be still and know that I am God’’ Because I believe in and serve a sovereign God, I choose to be peaceful on purpose. John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Because I cannot do anything about the situation, I cast it on God.

When you choose to stand firm and hold on to peaceful life choices, you become upset that you let the devil steal your peace in the past. Although we may seek our peace from different things, people, alcohol, sex, drugs, and much more things that may be our way of finding comfort, it is liberating to know that ultimate peace and rest comes from God.

Striving to be a woman with, for and of God has made me realise that my peace comes from Him alone. At the end of the day after the good times with my favourites, I still find the greatest rest of mind from my creator through prayer, meditation, and reading of His word.

I hope you are encouraged to hold your peace and know for sure that in Christ, He fights your battles. You never lose, you never go wrong as you put your trust in Jesus.
