2018|| LESSONS WORTH HOLDING ONTO

My aim today is to remind you that every day is a good day to make progress. Do not for any reason, be comfortable with the status quo. This is not a message against contentment. Both are very different. Do not settle for less because you are lazy or believe the lie that you cannot break out from the way things have been done and do or be more. At the same time, do not be intimated by the goals people have set for 2018.

We’re 9 days into the new year and it has been a season of many recaps, reviews, lessons, etc, from 2017. Lots of individuals and organisations have also set goals for 2018 and that’s pretty amazing. I mean, check out almost every blog, media outlet, and what have you. There is a formation people are ready to work with this year to achieve more and be better. From the previous records of some, I’m quite certain they’ll smash those goals again!

For some of you, it is possible that when you read someone’s review of 2017, their so-called “poor performance” seems better than your set goals for 2018! Do not be intimidated. Stay in your lane, work/walk your path. Don’t jump the gun.

Allow the growth and goals of others enlighten you to know that in this life and whatever fields we operate in, there is MORE! Let it be the keyhole that gives you a glimpse into endless possibilities. Let it stir you up to take the challenges that life presents, and make the most beautiful things out of it.

If you do not want to remain on the spot where you were this morning, yesterday, last night, etc, you must constantly remember that life should be lived intentionally. This is a whole blog post (a whole book actually) on its own but whether it’s enjoying your morning shower, moving your startup to a different height, or finally getting to understand how God speaks to you, you get the best from each experience and assignment by living intentionally.

Begin to ask yourself questions that truly matter. What should I get out of this day? What should I pour into this day? When you answer these questions and understand how you can achieve your response, it’ll be a minute before you’re able to set much more long-term goals and achieve them. Ok, more than a minute.

“What should I get out of/pour into this day” could translate to “What should I get/pour into this relationship with my child, spouse, students, etc?”

This year is ripe for the taking. Even though it calls you to work really hard, it is way better than staying stuck.
Choose to let your words and your presence in a place minister healing rather than pain.

Keep track of your growth in various areas and always remain grateful and excited about the progress you’re making.
Don’t be afraid to make again, the decisions you were not able to live by last year.
Know that in Christ, YOU.ARE.ENOUGH and when you finally get to laugh, close your eyes and throw your head backwards. Let the joy in that moment, be all you allow yourself experience.
